Where We Work
Both sides of the river, and beyond
Team Thomley serves 18 communities across West Alabama. We grew up here, and these guides cover what a place is actually like — which district it sits in, what the drive really takes, and who it suits.
Guides published
- Tuscaloosa, Alabama The city on the Black Warrior — a university town, a hospital town, a manufacturing town, and four or five distinct housing markets sharing one name.
- Northport, Alabama Across the river from downtown Tuscaloosa, with its own downtown, its own school district, and its own way of doing things.
- Brookwood, Alabama Coal country east of Tuscaloosa, with its own high school, real acreage, and an interstate ramp that puts two cities inside an hour.
- Buhl, Alabama West of Northport on the Highway 82 corridor — unincorporated, uncomplicated, and cheaper by the acre than anywhere closer in.
- Coaling, Alabama A small town on the corridor between Cottondale and Vance — modest, quiet, and closer to the plant gate than almost anywhere.
- Coker, Alabama Where the county starts, just north-west of Northport — land and quiet without committing to a long drive.
- Cottondale, Alabama Tuscaloosa's closest eastern neighbor — county schools, an interstate ramp, and a short drive that stays short.
- Duncanville, Alabama On Highway 69 South, in the stretch where Tuscaloosa loosens its grip and the land opens up.
- Echola, Alabama North-west county farmland, well past the last subdivision — small, quiet, and not pretending to be anything else.
- Elrod, Alabama North-west of Northport near the Highway 82 corridor — rural, small, and closer to a main road than its neighbours.
- Fosters, Alabama Farming country in the south-west corner of the county, where the land is the point and the market moves slowly.
- Gordo, Alabama Small-town Alabama half an hour west of Tuscaloosa — acreage, quiet, and a very different price per square foot.
- Holt, Alabama On the river immediately east of the city — the closest-in address in the county, and the most misjudged one.
- Lake View, Alabama A young town on the corridor east of the city — newer houses, a county line at one edge, and two metros within reach.
- Moundville, Alabama Sixteen miles south on Highway 69, with a thousand years of history at its edge and a county line through the middle of town.
- Ralph, Alabama A small rural community in the south-west of the county — genuinely quiet, genuinely small, and honestly described.
- Vance, Alabama The plant town on the interstate — where a shift schedule, not a school run, usually decides which street you want.
- Woodstock, Alabama Bibb County on the interstate, facing Birmingham first and Tuscaloosa second — the far eastern end of where we work.
